Like never before

Standard

I don’t think my posts are time stamped so I’ll just say up front that it’s early.  Very early.  And I’m wide awake.  But you’d be too if Holy Spirit played you a song you barely knew.  It’s been a while since He’s given me any songs, and this one I almost missed because it was playing so quietly.  You see, contrary to how smooth things may appear on the outside, I’ve been having a crisis of sorts lately.  Without going into detail let’s just say He’s been peeling back layers and much like happens when you peel onions, there have been plenty of tears.

So as I lay drifting in and out of sleep, talking to God, thinking about things, wondering if I should get out of bed (but not wanting to awaken my husband, who has this crazy nearness sensor that goes off whenever I do), I hear the chorus of Fleetwood Mac’s “Songbird” playing very faintly, “And I love you, I love you, I love you like never before.”  Most of the songs on the Rumors album I was familiar with, but this was a little gem I barely knew (which is surprising because I about wore that album out).  If you follow the link and listen, be sure to read the two posts shown on that page as I believe they are significant (and kind of follow my last post’s theme of noticing sickness).  Anyway here are the lyrics:

For you, there’ll be no more crying,
For you, the sun will be shining,
And I feel that when I’m with you,
It’s alright, I know it’s right

To you, I’ll give the world
To you, I’ll never be cold
‘Cause I feel that when I’m with you,
It’s alright, I know it’s right.

And the songbirds are singing,
Like they know the score,
And I love you, I love you, I love you,
Like never before.

And I wish you all the love in the world,
But most of all, I wish it from myself.

And the songbirds keep singing,
Like they know the score,
And I love you, I love you, I love you,
Like never before, like never before.

He hears my heart and comes to sing me back to health and wholeness in the middle of the night, and I love Him, I love Him, I love Him like never before….
