Translated

Standard

Not as in “I was translated to…” but rather “I translated a poem.” :) Okay, I had help (of course, the original is in Hebrew!). It is called “Two Are Grasping the Tallit” by Rivka Miriam, and it was my friend Seree’s idea. She provided the crib and transliteration and we went back and forth for two weeks working on it. What a wild ride it was, too! I’d post it here, but I think she wants to send it out for publication. It did pretty well in Eratosphere’s “Translation Fest”, placing 6th out of 31 poems (it would have placed 4th had I not voted, lol). And not only was it a good experience, but it got me writing again–another villanelle and my first ghazal (which was a total blast). There’s a form I wonder why I never tried before! It’s loads of fun.
