Facebook

Standard

I read an article yesterday about some of the many changes Facebook has been making.  It seems that the powers that be keep taking away users’ privacy rights and if you’re not on the ball and keeping up with your settings you’ll find your information, photos, etc., have been made available to third parties (friend or not).

I spent a lot of time on Facebook…more than I’d care to admit, and I’ve been toying with the idea of deleting my account.  I think there’s a correlation between my lack of writing poetry and the time I spend on the Web (not just on Facebook but on She Writes and other sites as well).  I’ve gotten lazy.  It’s much easier to surf than stare at an empty page.

I’d miss keeping up with things.  It really is a great way to stay in touch with friends and family.  Maybe I should just go on a Facebook fast for a week, see how that goes.  I doubt it would make a difference, but one never knows.
