To D’Iberville, Mississippi, that is. This usually happens before I take an extended trip–I always wish I had more time! Tomorrow my feet will have to hit the ground running from the moment I get out of bed until I no doubt will drop into it late at night. It’s not that I procrastinated because I was busy, but I didn’t push myself as hard as I should have. Then I decided since I won’t be home for Mother’s Day to drive down to Lancaster County to take my mom out for lunch. There goes a five-hour chunk out of the middle of my day. But hey, I don’t see her enough as it is and I know how much it means to her when I go down for a visit.
I love going back home. I miss the Amish, believe it or not, although it saddens me each time I make the trip and discover yet another field being paved over or built upon. It’s no wonder there’s an exodus of Amish to other counties and states. They’ll be out planting corn and getting their gardens ready. It’s a busy time of year for all farmers, not just the Amish, though it takes them longer to work their fields because they use horses, which still get the same mile-per-bale that they always have :)
Well, I’ve miles to go before I sleep, so I’d better get a move on!
