NaNoWriMo

Standard

What is NaNoWriMo, you may ask? It’s National Novel Writing Month, which is November. The challenge is to write a novel in 30 days (50,000 words). Okay, so I’m wondering why I’m even considering it, especially since I have trouble writing one or two poems a month. I write best when I have large chunks of time (i.e., once in a blue moon). I don’t operate well under pressure, though I’ve discovered in one assignment (four articles for the local arts council) that the hardest part is finding the springboard, and once I get going, it’s a lot like writing a poem. But 50,000 words?! Well, the deadline to sign up is tomorrow, and I’ll probably ponder my way right past it.

Then again, there is this plot for a story that’s been floating around my head for years….

  1. And that’s probably all they’ll get, lol. But I’m going for it, even though I know nothing about writing a novel. This should be interesting :)
