So much of what I’ve been spending time reading online lately are discussions in which people express their opinions, sometimes quite heatedly. There was a time in the not-too-distant past when I would have quickly joined the fray, but I’ve come to realize a couple of things. First of all, very few people care what I think! And why should they? Opinions are formed by our own education and life experience which (hopefully :) matures as we grow. What someone has learned from the lessons of life is, to them, truth. The fact that their particular education and life experience may have been warped can cause them to hold on to their opinions even tighter and make them appear so much more the fanatic. When we disagree with their opinion, they can feel threatened and therefore have a need to champion the “truth.” But what is truth? Pilate asked that question once, but I don’t see that he waited for an answer.
