Buttery goodness

After work today I’m going over to a friend’s house to learn how to make butter. Of course with today’s modern appliances, what used to take an hour now takes ten minutes. And since I don’t actually have a food processor, that will go on the Christmas list! The last time I had “real” butter (the stuff from the store is good but isn’t the real deal) was when I was a teenager. It has a stronger flavor than storebought, and I like it.

Oh, and that sleepy spell yesterday? My nap ended up being two hours long. When I woke up I knew why I had gotten so tired as I could feel some chest congestion coming on. When that or a sore throat starts I begin dosing myself with orange juice mixed with 10-15 drops of grapefruit seed extract. So far so good. I need to take it every four hours, and even woke in the middle of the night last night with the chest pressure back, so I got up and made another glass. Probably 90% of the time I’m able to ward off respiratory illnesses with the stuff. Don’t confuse it with grapeseed extract, though. And I’ll warn you, the stuff is extremely bitter. It’ll pucker you right up!
